More Information
Tension headaches are the most common type of headache. They are often described as mild to moderate pressure across the forehead, on both sides and/or in the back of the head. The scalp may feel tender and so may the muscles in the neck and shoulders. Sometimes the sensitivity to light and noise is elevated. Tension headaches can last from half an hour to a week.
Symptoms of migraines include moderate to severe throbbing pain often concentrated on one side of the head that perseveres from several hours to a few days. Frequently, migraine headaches are accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. While tension headaches rarely increase with physical activity, migraine sufferers often experience the desire to lay down and remain completely still.
The causes of headaches and migraines are not well understood. The most commonly accepted theory by experts today is that disturbances of the nerve pathways to the brain may result in headaches for people with a heightened sensitivity to pain.
What we do know is that strains on our nervous system as well as unhealthy habits frequently trigger headaches. These include stress, anxiety, depression, poor posture, working and holding an awkward position for a long time, clenching of the jaws, and more. Migraines may also be triggered by eating certain foods (alcohol, highly salty foods, processed foods, …) or skipping a meal, changes in weather, some medications, and hormonal changes in women during menstruation and menopause.
Headache Relief is a smart natural alternative to synthetic over-the-counter painkillers that can cause harmful side effects, lose their effectiveness over time, and lead to "rebound headaches" also known as "medication overuse headaches" or MOH. Headache Relief's natural homeopathic ingredients also help you relax, soothe minor body aches, regulate body temperature, and improve your overall sense of well-being.
If your headaches are frequent and linked to mental strain, consider taking Headache Relief in combination with our nerve formula Peacefulí for long-term relief or see all our Stress & Anxiety remedies.
If your headaches are triggered by allergies and pollutants in the air resulting in symptoms of sinusitis, see Sinus Relief for relief from sinus headaches.
