About Aurum Metallicum from the Materia Medica

Main indications:*

  • Depression and suicidal thoughts
  • Ailments from grief and humiliation
  • Angina, heart palpitation, and hypertension

Aurum Metallicum, or metallic gold, is the homeopathic remedy for depression, grief, and ailments of the heart including angina, heart palpitations, and hypertension. It is the remedy for infections which deteriorate the glands, circulatory system, and bones. Aurum Metallicum also treats rheumatoid arthritis and abnormal bone growth in the cranium and facial bones.

Ancient civilizations used gold as a cure for the wealthy and important, due to its scarcity and a seemingly magical resistance to decay. It was used by physicians to treat heart problems as early as the 12th century and in the treatment of syphilis and the dreaded tuberculosis in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
