How are homeopathic medicines taken?
Homeopathic medicines are available in various forms including pellets, liquids, sprays, tablets, and ointments. HomeopathyStore.com specializes in pellets (also called globules), liquids, and sprays — highly effective, easy, and well-tasting ways of administering a remedy.

Allow pellets to completely dissolve in your mouth and the liquid — drops and spray — to remain in your mouth for 15 seconds before swallowing. Before taking a dose of liquid drops into your mouth, you may mix them with a tablespoon of water in a small glass. It is often recommended to put pellets and liquids underneath your tongue. The remedy starts to take effect immediately as the many capillaries in your mouth absorb it and release it into the blood stream.

For best results, do not touch pellets with your fingers. Let them drop directly from the cap into your mouth.

At what time of the day should I take my remedies?
Homeopathic remedies are taken away from meals. Take them 15 minutes before or after a meal or right between meals.

Very few remedies, e.g. formulas supporting the digestive system, have more specific directions relating to the best time of taking them. Always look at the directions provided for each remedy.

How do I use the pellet tube dispenser?
The tube dispenser has been created to minimize the need for touching the pellets with your fingers. Turn tube upside down. Twist the cap to break the seal, or peel off the small portion of the label along the perforated line. Hold the tube vertically and keep twisting the cap to release the desired number of pellets. Let the pellets drop directly from the cap into your mouth.

The pellets are irregular in shape and size. Does the size of a pellet matter?
No, the size of a pellet does not matter. Homeopathic pellets come in different sizes. Our pellets vary from 3.2 to 3.8 millimeters in size. Regardless of the size, each pellet delivers the same dose and potency.

Can I drink coffee and tea when taking homeopathic medicines?
Caffeine may render a homeopathic medicine less effective. However, it has been observed that for individuals who drink coffee or tea daily, homeopathic treatments do not show a reduction in their effectiveness.

If you enjoy a regular cup of coffee or tea in the morning and/or afternoon, we recommend that you take your remedies right between this enjoyment and your next meal. Always allow 15 minutes between taking your remedy and consuming any food or drink other than water.

How about mint and other strong flavors?
Homeopathic remedies are best absorbed in a mouth free of strong flavors. Follow the 15-minute rule, and you can enjoy mint in your tea (as well as toothpaste), ginger, garlic, and fresh onion along with your homeopathic remedies.

I have lactose intolerance, and homeopathic pellets contain lactose. Can I take remedies in pellet form?

Liquid homeopathic remedies have an alcohol base. Can I give them to my children?
Yes, children 2 years of age and older can take liquid homeopathic remedies. The alcohol content in a dose of a homeopathic liquid formula, dropper bottle and spray, is very small. A glass of apple juice contains more alcohol than a dose of a liquid homeopathic remedy.

How often should I take my remedies?
It is generally recommended to take a remedy 2 to 3 times per day. For acute conditions, it is essential to take the remedy when you need it. Take the remedy as often as needed and as rarely as possible.

In more then 70 years of regulation, microdosed homeopathic medicines have established an overwhelming record of safety and effectiveness. Today, the HPCUS's regulatory process is considered a model for the regulation of dietary supplements.

What is the difference between homeopathic remedies and herbal/dietary supplements?
While herbal and dietary supplements are regulated as foods, homeopathic remedies are regulated as drugs by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Like food, herbs, vitamins, and minerals have to be broken down into smaller particles before they can be absorbed and used by the body. This conversion requires energy. Since nutritional and herbal supplements contain a high concentration of plant or mineral substances, the conversion into micro-nutrients is very demanding. As we grow older or when we are ill or weakened, our bodies are less equipped to muster the necessary amount of energy. This may hurt already stressed organs causing complications such as toxicity or hypersensitivity.

Homeopathy formulas, on the contrary, are highly diluted in solution. The homeopathic principle of the "minimum dose" avoids any such complications by administering just enough of an active ingredient to initiate the body's own healing response.

Will I have to sign for my shipment? Will my package be delivered if I am not at the delivery address at the time of arrival?
We do not require a signature when we ship your package. If you choose to have your package shipped via USPS and you are not at the delivery address at the time of arrival of your package, you will receive a notice informing you about re-delivery and pick up options. If you choose UPS as your carrier, it is at the discretion of the driver to leave your package in a secure spot or to leave a notice with re-delivery and pick up options. The same applies to gift orders.

Can I have my package shipped to a PO box?
If you choose USPS as your carrier, you will be able to use a PO box as delivery address. UPS does not ship to PO boxes.

Can I have my package shipped to military APO/FPO addresses? Will shipping to a military address increase the delivery time?
Yes, both USPS and UPS mail to military addresses. While USPS generally accepts military addresses, shipping to international APO/FPO addresses does increase the delivery time for USPS Priority Mail and USPS Express Mail.
UPS guarantees the same delivery times to residential military addresses as to any other destination in the respective area. However, UPS does not accept APO/FPO addresses that are work locations.

USPS Priority Mail may take 4 to 5 days, USPS Express takes 3 days to arrive in Alaska and Hawaii. UPS guarantees the delivery time for the shipping method chosen at checkout.
